Oh my...your words really helped explain your day, but the video brings it home. What a hard and yet joyful day! So precious to watch Claire walk to Jeff and then later be comforted, so wonderful to see Helena stroke her daughter's face and play together. She is simply beautiful, and she is yours! Praise God!! We're still praying...(praying that her little switch stays on). :)

Jeff, Helena and Claire...I have been sitting here reading and watching your last days...I smile and cry and laugh. I am so happy for all of you. Elisabeth and Katherine think she is "so cute" and cannot wait to meet their new friend. You 2 are natural parents - no doubt!! love to all.

Praise the Lord Claire is with you now!!!! We can't stop crying and laughing as we watch the video. Claire looks like such a fun, playful and smart little girl. It is sooooooo wonderful watching you both as parents. We of course can't wait to meet our new niece. Noah and Grace can't wait to play with their precious cousin. We are counting down the days until we see you all.
May the Lord bless you all,
Love, Uncle Eric, Auntie Louise, Noah and Grace.

What an amazing journey - we are so happy that you are finally together as a family! Claire is lucky to have you both as parents - you are going to provide such a great future for her. We can't wait for our newly expanded families to meet...hopefully it will be sooner than later!
Love,
Jeannine, Joe, and Hailey

Jeff and Helena,
A warm and heartfelt congratulations. This is quite the amazing journey and I want to say thanks for taking us all along for the ride!

Claire,
Welcome to your new world. You are just now starting to know how great your parents are. Your Dad and I have worked together for a number of years and I can say, without a doubt, that he is one of the most honest, trustworthy and reliable people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. It is these three traits that are going to make him a great Dad and help guide him and your Mom into this vast wilderness we call "parenthood."

I promise, no mention of "journeys" in this comment (unless I mention the ACTUAL TRIP itself. Which I guess I just did.)

I am a famously non-emotional person. But even I can see this was one hell of an day. And it really only gets better from here, if you can imagine that.

I think the biggest contributor to being a "successful" parent is desire. You have to WANT to be a parent - and not everyone who is, does, if that makes sense.

You have to prioritize and make (often hard) choices and move your own needs and wants down a peg. And really, adoptive parents already have. From the get-go.

Someone wiser than me once said that kids fill a hole in your heart that you didnt even know was there. I'll bet you believe that now...

Wow!! What a blessing, what an event. It is amazing to read your words, see the video, and feel the lifelong journey begin with your precious daughter. God surely put the three of you together. :)
